The tight schedule after Argentina's second qualifying game could affect the 37-year-old's training and playing time in the next stage of the MLS Playoffs — if Miami get past Atlanta.
Messi displayed scintillating form the last time he wore the national team shirt as he scored a hat-trick in their 6-0 win over Bolivia. Argentina are currently at the top of the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifying table with 22 points from 10 matches.
If Miami manage to beat Atlanta in this weekend's huge game 3 clash they will face either Orlando City or Charlotte FC in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.
