A bizarre Cristiano Ronaldo transfer rumour has been met with an “are you stupid” response from baffled French third tier outfit Versailles.

One club being ruled out of the running are Versailles, with a parody football account stating that CR7 will not be seeing out his playing days with a team that is co-owned by Formula 1 driver Pierre Gasly. Said message was tongue-in-cheek, but quickly went viral.
Versailles have felt the need to issue a response, with a post on their X account being billed as “Official Statement: Cristiano Ronaldo”. In a blunt message to fans wondering what all of the fuss is about, the French club merely said: “Are you stupid or what?”
